Developing resilience & increasing wellbeing

Although not a new concept, resilience has received increasing attention and much research in recent years.

Resilience plays an important role in wellbeing in many ways, including helping to improve problem solving and coping skills, helping us face challenging situations, and increasing resistance to stress.

By way of training slides, practical exercises and discussion, this workshop aims to look at how we may develop our resilience skills, with a view to increasing wellbeing. It explores what resilience is and why it is important, looks at positive reframing (‘unhelpful’ and ‘helpful’ thinking), and how resilience may help us deal with changes and challenges in the workplace. Along with a brief introduction to mindfulness, the workshop also explores identifying our character strengths and looks at how these may be used to help us face challenges.
